Our history dates back to 1950, when late Mr Asrarul Hossain, the exceptional Barrister-at-Law and first Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, started practicing out of his home office in Dhaka. Before Bangladesh gained independence, Mr Asrarul Hossain was going to be directly admitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan as a judge. A household name among the law fraternity, he was part of many landmark constitutional cases, including The Rann of Kutch Arbitration. He left an illustrious legacy in the form of the oldest law library in Bangladesh.

Following his father’s footsteps, Mr Ajmalul Hossain took the firm to even greater heights by playing a crucial role in the political history of Bangladesh. He’s widely known for spearheading the constitutional amendments made during Martial Law Governments in Bangladesh and restoring democracy in the country. He was the first King’s Counsel (formerly Queen’s Counsel) of Bangladeshi origin, appointed in 1998. He developed the jurisprudence and continues to do so in the areas of employment law, constitutional, corporate law in Bangladesh.

Third-generation lawyer, Mr Afsar Hossain heads the Singapore and Dubai offices of the firm and engages in arbitration and advisory work while representing international clients, especially in the shipping industry. In 2008, he was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn and became a Barrister in 2014. Under Mr Hossain’s leadership, the firm has proved to be a global partner for businesses, facilitating in their growth at all stages.
